FaultWatch is designed for repair and technical service benches where a visual fault may disappear while someone is watching.

It can observe another device, or guide an individual through monitoring the same computer with an external webcam and a static reference screen.

Evidence, not a verdict

A report that keeps the observation in context.

Each completed session can produce locally stored clips, event details, and an HTML report. A detected event is a prompt to review what the camera saw. It does not identify an electrical cause or certify that hardware is fault-free.

Built for the bench

Your footage stays
where the work happens.

FaultWatch is a local Windows application. In the current private-beta candidate, it has no user accounts, cloud storage, telemetry, or background upload.

Operators should keep people, customer documents, and unrelated screens outside the camera view. The analysis area guides detection; saved event media can include the full camera frame.

Reports and evidence are saved to a folder controlled by the operator.

The operator chooses the camera, monitoring period, output location, and retention.

FaultWatch is looking for a small number of device owners, independent repair businesses, refurbishment, returns, and QA teams that encounter intermittent display issues.

A suitable research partner

  • Has a real, recent intermittent display problem to evaluate
  • Can use a Windows 10 or 11 bench with a suitable webcam
  • Can position the camera without recording sensitive areas
  • Can share practical feedback about setup and usefulness
